동국대학교 학술문화관 옥상정원

There is a rooftop garden where is to be connected with a watercourse of greens of Namsan and Cheonggyecheon on a roof of science and Culture Center located on campus of Dongguk University.
A keyword of landscape architecture design is “nature”, “mass society” and “creation”, which are closely related to students studying at this building. It is located to the lowest bottom spot on campus so that it gives full-wide view on anywhere and gets visually abundant natural beauty. Furthermore, it has a green ratio more than 80%, which gives an ecological space to have understanding for the communication between human and nature as a small-sized communication space. This rooftop garden will be a valuable space with precious memories for students.

동국대학교 캠퍼스 내에 위치한 학술문화관 옥상, 남산의 녹지와 청계천의 물줄기를 연결하는 자리에 정원이 조성되었다. 이 학술문화관 옥상정원의 조경설계 키워드는 도시 녹화의 역할을 하는“자연”과 이 건물에서 공부하는 학생들의 전공분야와 관련된“대중사회”와“창조”이다. 캠퍼스 내 최하단에 위치하여 인접 건물에서 보아도 전체적인 조망이 가능하기 때문에 휴게공간으로서의 기능뿐만이 아닌 시각적으로도 풍요로운 자연의 모습을 담아내고자 하였다.
