General Maister Memorial Park
메이스터 장군과 북쪽 국경선의 군인들에게 봉헌된 이 공원은, 가로지르는 동선들에 의해 기하학적으로 잘려진 여러 잔디 파봉들에 의해 추상적인 형태의 3차원적인 공간으로 구성되어 있다. 이것은 메이스터 장군과 그의 장병들이 1918년에 전투를 벌였던 북쪽 국경선의 마루 부분을 관념적으로 나타내고자 한 것이다.
도로 옆에 있는 파봉의 크기는 줄이고 지지벽으로 끝맺음 하였다. 이 지지벽에는 북쪽 국경선 군인들의 이름을 새겨 놓은 황동 막대들이 있어 기념적 상징적인 역할을 하고 있다. 공원의 끝에는 실사 크기로 만들어진 기마병 동상도 있다.
공간 표현의 주요 요소는 개별적인 삼각형 면적을 분리하고 지형 자체를 옹벽 형태로 만든 강화 콘크리트 조립물이다. 높은 곳에 지어진 다기능 옹벽에는 벤치, 휴지통, 조명 시설 등이 설치되어 있어서 전망 좋은 휴식 공간이 되기도 한다. 전체 제방은 공원을 마치 돌 방패처럼 보호하는 견고한 돌 블록으로 이루어져 홍수 및 침식의 위험을 막아주고 있다.
The park, dedicated to General Maister and the soldiers for the northern border was planned as an abstract three-dimensional space, where the paths lead around geometrically cut grass crests. It is an abstract representation of the crest of the northern border, for which Maister’ soldiers fought in the year 1918.
The crest next to the road is truncated and ends with a supporting wall, which serves as a part of the memorial symbol, for on it there is a line of bronze sticks, bearing the names of the soldiers for the northern border. The symbolic composition ends with an abstract life-size bronze figure of a horseman.
The main elements of the space articulation are the reinforced prefabricates of concrete, which are separating single triangular surfaces and framing the terrain like retaining walls. The multifunctional elevated
retaining walls are also resting places view points, which include benches, litter bins and light elements. The whole embankment is secured against inundation and erosion with solid stone blocks, which protect the park like a stone shield.
