청암정은 경북 봉화군 봉화읍 유곡리 석천계곡(232,595.82㎡) 내에 위치하며, 조선 중종 때의 대학자인 충재 권벌과 그의 아들 권동보가 축조한 것으로 거북바위 중앙에 6칸 대청과 4칸의 마루방 정자를 짓고, 바위 주위로는 둑을 쌓아 연못을 축조하는 등 자연과 인공이 화합하는 순응의 미학을 공간적, 지형적으로 연계시키고 있다. 이중환의『택리지(擇里志)』에는 “청암정이 못 가운데 섬 같은 큰 돌 위에 있고, 사방으로 냇물이 고리처럼 감고 흘러 자못 경치가 그윽하다”라고 묘사하고 있다. 2009년 12월 9일 명승 제60호로 지정되었다.
Cheongamjeong which is located in san 131, Yugok-ri, Bonghwa-eup, Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do was constructed by a great scholar Chungjae Kwon Beol and his son Kwon Dongbo in the King Jungjong’s reign of Joseon dynasty. It is 4gan(front) by 4gan(side) size on the center of the turtle-shaped rock. There is the pond around the rock. The aesthetic of adaption is connected spatially, topographically, and functionally with Cheongamjeong, the rock and the pond. The old book, Taekriji, describes it as follow: “Ceongamjeong is on the rock that is like an island, and the stream flows like a ring around the rock. The scenery is so beautiful.” It was appointed as Scenic Spots and Places of Historic Interest no.60.
