Sigyongjeong

식영정은 전라남도 담양군 남면 지곡리 산 75-1 일원면적 28,039㎡에 위치하며, 조선 명종 때의 서하당 김성원이 그의 장인 석천 임억령을 위해 조영한 정자이다. 정면 2칸, 측면 2칸의 단층 팔작집으로, 주변에 자리한 조선 중기 가사문학의 산실인 환벽당, 취가정, 소쇄원 등과 함께 자연과 인공이 화합하는 순응의 미학을 공간적, 지형적으로 연계시키고 있다. 1979년 1월 29일 전라남도기념물 제1호로 지정된 이후 2009년 9월 18일 명승 57호로 승격 지정되었다.

Sigyeongjeong which is located in San 75-1, Jigok-ri, Nam-myeon, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do was constructed by a great scholar Kim, Sung Won and his father-in-law Im, Eok Ryeong in the King MyeongJong’s reign of Joseon dynasty. It is 2gan(front) by 2gan(side) size on the center of the turtle-shaped rock. The aesthetic of adaption is connected spatially, topographically, and functionally with Sigyeongjeong, the valley and the lake. It was appointed as Scenic Spots and Places of Historic Interest no.57.
