Hahoemaeul Yangjindang

하회마을 양진당은 경상북도 안동시 풍천면 하회동 729-4번지 일원에 위치하며, 조선 선조(宣祖) 때 대유학자 겸암 류운룡(柳雲龍, 1539~1601)이 거주했던 반가주택으로, 가옥의 전체 구성은 안채, 사랑채, 중문채, 행랑채, 사당 등이 자연과 인공이 화합하는 순응의 미학을 공간적, 지형적으로 연계시키고 있다. 1963년 1월 21일 보물 제306호 지정되었다.

The Yangjindang is the Korean traditional upper classes house in Hahoemaeul, Pungcheon-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It had been built in Sunjo’s period in Joseon dynasty. It is in important position to analogize technique of the arrangement of the house reflected factors of the Pung-su(divination by configuration of the ground). The factors are name of the town, topography and arrangement of the Sarangchae(the men’s part of a house) and Anchae(the main building of a house). The area of the house is basically made of Hangrangchae(servants’ quarters), Sarangchae(the men’s part of a house), Anchae(the main building of a house). It is connecting with condition of the selecting of the building area by environment and aesthetic.
