 Seoul Sajikdan

사직단은 서울특별시 종로구 사직동 1-28번지 일원에 위치하며, 태조 4년(1395)에 국태민안(國泰民安)을 기원할 목적으로 조성된 단묘시설로, 국가의 대사(大祀) 중 하나인 사직대제를 행하고 있다. 현재 43,855㎡(13,289여 평)일원에 사단, 직단, 유원과 유문, 주원과 신문, 신실, 안향청 등에서 자연과 인공이 화합하는 순응의 미학을 공간적, 지형적으로 연계시키고 있다. 1963년 1월 21일 사적 제121호로 지정되었다.

Seoul Sajikdan which is located in 1-28 Sajik-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. After constructed in the 4th year of King Taejo's reign(1395), it was used for religious service to spirit of land and cereals. And it has spatial organization significance as one of national ceremonial place. Currently the area 43,855㎡(13,289py) in the whole area Sadan and Jikdan, Yuwon(壝垣) and Yumun(壝門), Juwon(周垣) and Sinmun(神門), Sinsil, Anhyangcheong, etc. The aesthetics of adaptation is connected spatially, topographically and functionally. It was appointed Historical Site no. 121 in 21, January, 1963.
